SIS deliver Anti-Match Fixing Workshop at UEFA Football Integrity Programme
1 year ago
Today Starlizard Integrity Services delivered an anti-match fixing educational workshop at the Football Integrity Programme Winter School hosted by UEFA in Nyon, Switzerland.
The aim of the workshop was to deliver a practitioner-level education session on investigative anti-match fixing techniques to a number of Integrity Officers from football governing bodies across the UEFA region.
Amongst the subjects covered were an introduction to Asian betting markets and the unique characteristics of the Asian system, as well as how forensically analysing the Asian betting markets can be used to detect suspicious football matches, together with player and match official performance analysis from video footage. This culminated in a detailed case study that highlighted how these techniques are used to draw objective inferences that can be presented as evidence in both disciplinary and criminal proceedings by sports governing bodies and law enforcement agencies.
