What type of candidate are you?
You will be comfortable taking responsibility for projects and working independently. There is a lot of collaboration within the Analytics department but ultimately, you’ll be a strong individual contributor and able to deliver work into production.
There will be a lot to learn so you’ll need to ask questions, reflect on feedback and have the tenacity and diligence to thoroughly test and deliver solutions.
You will ideally have an interest in sport, but this is not essential.
What will you be doing?
With access to large and varied datasets, you will be building models to optimise our decision-making processes. You will be expected to identify areas for improvement in our strategies and systems and to then work closely with our data engineering team and key members of the betting teams to define and deliver the desired improvements.
At times, there will be completely new problems that need to be solved. You’ll need the intellectual curiosity and the support of the team to decide where to start and how to tackle these challenges.
You will also be expected to lead some larger scale projects once you are familiar with the nuances of the business processes.
What skills will you have?
A strong academic background in Maths with a focus on statistical foundations.
Demonstrable experience in delivering projects that solve real problems or create tangible commercial benefit. The delivery and adoption of your work into the core betting business will be the true measure of success.
You will have successfully applied Machine Learning techniques in a commercial environment.
Experience applying methods such as linear models, tree-based models and neural networks will also be expected.
